Yeah alright it may not be on trend and I should be doing TikTok trends instead to grab your attention... But if you are still reading this then thank you for your attention ☕
You may recognise me from working for TK Maxx for over 15 years, where I've learnt about how much markup other brands put on their products. Obviously other coffee brands are doing the same thing and you're paying for the marketing and not the product.
Over the past few years it's become apparent with the cost of living going up and more and more expenses chipping away at your bank account that being thrifty has become a part of modern life... Also everybody loves a bargain
So why coffee? Well I'm notorious for always sneaking in a coffee to keep me going through the day. It's a running joke that you can tell I've been in the store as you'll find a trail of mugs coffee drips and cafetieres wherever I go.
I was saving a small fortune by making your own instead of buying a Costa or Nero nearly every day.
Switching to fresh roasted coffee instead of instant coffee is a massive upgrade. It meant a better caffeine kick and just made it more enjoyable as a drink.
But a lot of the freshly roasted coffee (even the subscription ones) felt like paying for an expensive gym membership each month and I would get bored of the same taste over and over again.
Supermarket coffee just felt flat or robusta heavy when I just enjoyed a smooth coffee experience without giving me a rapid caffeine boost and then the inevitable crash after it.
Well that's when I decided to create Doorstep Coffee Co. with the goal to make it:
Affordable ✅ Accessible✅ Educational ✅
and I hope that this blog is a base to help you understand and enjoy coffee more ☕
